The “House for the Church”

The “Church,” the ecclesia, is the people of God. When St.Paul in his New Testament letters refers to the Church, he is not referring to any building (for there was no “church building”, people gathered in houses for eucharist and fellowship), he is referring to Christian people in a particular local.

   RECTOR'S MESSAGE
Welcome to the Web Page of the Anglican Parish of the Resurrection! We are a Christian community seeking to encompass the wide spectrum inherent in our diverse Anglican Church – from the catholic emphasis on sacrament and silence, to the charismatic worship and prayer ministry, to evangelical emphasis on Biblical teaching.

We are also a parish that recognizes the pilgrim nature of the People of God, and that we are called to live and proclaim the Gospel in an ever-changing society. Therefore, as we seek to respond to the Spirit's call to renewal as individuals and as a parish family, it is our objective to do so by emphasizing hospitality and mission with the help of our new Emmaus Room (a café concept) and Oratory (place of prayer).

The Emmaus Room Cafe is open daily to the community and wider region from 11am to 2pm serving lunch and refreshments. Breakfast is served every Sunday morning at 9am. We host a Senior's Cafe the 1st Thursday of each month beginning at 2pm; and a youth Cafe the 1st & 3rd Saturday's of each month. Wireless internet is available. All are welcome.

Liturgically, our main gathering is at the Holy Eucharist on Sunday mornings at 11am. This is a very warm, relaxed and Spirit-filled gathering for young and old. There is also a mass on Wednesday's at 1215; and we also practice Lectio Divina (Christian Meditation) on Sundays at 6:30pm. I welcome and encourage you to join us in our journey of faith and love together.

Wishing you peace and joy in the Risen Lord Jesus.
