Emmaus Room
The “gathering” area is called the “Emmaus Room” to reflect the Gospel resurrection story of the road to Emmaus – it was in the context of hospitality (over a meal) that the two disciples recognized the Risen Jesus. Our Emmaus Room is a 1500sq ft hospitality room built around a fireplace. This room is in a café concept open every day to our people and to the region (regardless of denomination or social status) serving coffee and refreshments. Our vision is to have a facility that offers the opportunity for the community to gather daily.
We also envision the Emmaus Room facilitating youth gatherings on Saturday evenings, where young people can gather around a meal with an evening of fellowship, in an environment where an encouraging word about life can be offered and explored.
St.Nicholas Play Room is an important room in our “New House.” Not only is it a place for the moms and young ones to benefit when the community gathers for liturgy, but it also a place that can be used on a daily basis when young families visit the Emmaus room.
In addition to hosting youth gatherings, the Emmaus room will facilitate a Seniors Café the 1st Thursday of each month from 2 to 4 pm.
The gathering area will work in conjunction with an administrative wing (future project) that will contain multipurpose rooms, offices, and a historical archive.
